CLAUSTROPHOBIA AND THE MRI SCAN

– DO MRI SCANS MAKE YOU FEEL NERVOUS?

– ARE YOU UNCOMFORTABLE IN SMALL ENCLOSED SPACE?

– ARE YOU WORRIED THAT CLAUSTROPHOBIA WILL INTERFERE WITH YOUR SCAN?

CLAUSTROPHOBIA AND THE MRI SCAN

At Open MRI Network we know that MRI Scan’s can cause some patients to feel stressed and anxious. As a result we worked hard to make the scan as comfortable as possible for our patients. Before a scan is started our technicians always make sure that patients are comfortable. They will also stay in contact with them throughout the scan to answer any questions and be aware of any concerns.

Additionally we have entertainment glasses that will help calm nervous patients and provide a relaxing experience. During the scan patients will be able to view videos on the glasses and divert their focus away from the MRI.

OUR OPEN MRI’S ARE GREAT FOR PATIENTS WHO EXPERIENCE CLAUSTROPHOBIA

Patients that struggle with stress and anxiety in small enclosed spaces are prone to experience claustrophobia induced panic attacks in MRI machines. With our Open MRI scanners we hope to provide nervous patients with a comfortable imaging environment. Our machines are not enclosed and do not possess any sides, they are completely wide open.

Along with our entertainment glasses and earphones, patients will feel like they are in a movie theater instead of an MRI Imaging room. The loud noises from the MRI Machine will fade and be replaced by the sounds and images of our 4 video options.

Nervous patients will be able to complete their scans without discomfort and stress. Their claustrophobic symptoms will be calmed by our entertainment glasses and headphones. Their minds will escape from the confines of the imaging room and into different worlds.

MRI SCANS WILL NEVER BE THE SAME!
